Must Have Day of the Dead Resources
Day of the Dead is around the corner. It is one of my most favorite times of the year in the Spanish classroom. Creating an offering in the classroom, eating pan de muerto, making papel picado, and learning all about Day of the Dead. What I also love about this holiday is that it is a great opportunity to talk to young learners about something that they think is felt and identical globally, death. It is amazing to watch them gain understanding of this holiday and thus of how many Central Americans perceive death differently from others. If you are planning to celebrate and learn about Day of the Dead in your Spanish classroom or Club here are some great webpages, activities, and a video playlist that will make things exciting and enriching for your students. Best of all check out our Day of the Dead packet on our store, complete with craft activity, word search, web quest, video comprehension activities, comparing and contrasting sheet, and more. It is a great one day project you can do with altoid tins to make your own mini-ofrendas in class. The packet includes 3 more days worth of activities!
For more advanced students check out our La Llorona film packet to make a great Day of the Dead video experience too!
For papel picado patterns to do with all ages, check out this product by Spanish Made Easy.
